This print talk is a brief history of my photography showcasing the things I like to do with a camera. Most people have an idea of what I do but I am hoping to surprise a couple of you at least. I am not a specialist I am a generalist, I am a Jack of all trades and a master of none. My photography keeps me happy and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.
I like to do things my way despite what a judge may or may not say, I also like to break a few photographic rules...

Introduction to Deep Sky Astrophotography - Max Dobres ARPS
Via ZOOM From Home (HALL CLOSED)
The true beauty of the universe is hidden from us.
By day it is overwhelmed by light from the sun, by night it is often obscured by clouds, the moon or increasingly by man-made light pollution. Even on a perfect night the sheer distance and faintness of cosmic objects makes them effectively invisible. Astrophotography reveals these wonders.
Recent advancements in both astrophotography equipment and software have significantly lowered costs and enhanced user-friendly features, making the attainment of high-quality imaging well within the grasp of the average amateur enthusiast.
This short presentation will provide an overview of the equipment, and processes required to take stunning images of Deep Sky Objects (DSOs) such as Galaxies, Super Nova remnants and Nebulae from your back garden. It will take you beyond landscape astrophotography.
We will cover:
· Understanding the universe and its celestial wonders.
· The process of DSO Astrophotography
· Equatorial GOTO tracking mounts
· Telescopes, lenses, and filters
· DSLR and Astro Cameras
· Stacking and processing images to get stunning results.

Creative iPhone Photography - Adrian McGarry ARPS
Via ZOOM From Home (HALL CLOSED)
"Creative iPhone Photography" is a 90-minute, image-led presentation built around the way I work with a smartphone. Over a decade ago I stepped away from my DSLR setup and committed fully to the phone, choosing a simpler, more intuitive way of working that matched how I connect with the world.
Since then my iPhone images have been exhibited and published, and I’ve created urban, travel, coastal, and ICM projects entirely on the device. In the session I share the mindset behind my approach, the features and apps I rely on, and the techniques I use to get the most from a phone in any situation. It is part presentation and part live demo, rooted in real images, real workflows, and straight-talking advice. It is suitable for both iOS and Android users, and even non-smartphone photographers will find plenty here about creativity, intent, and seeing differently. At its core it is about vision over gear and making the most of the camera you always have with you.

Mobile Phone PDI and 4 image Panel PDI as 1 image - Judge - NNPS members
The Mobile Phone PDI and Panel PDI (single image) are two competitions that our NNPS members are to judge this evening.
The Panel PDI (single image) competition is new and I can almost hear some of you say, "What is and how do I produce a Panel PDI as a single image"
On the right is a sample of a 4 image panel as a single image.
Here is a link to a video showing How to produce a Triptych in Photoshop
(A triptych is 3 images, but use the same method to do a 4 image panel)
When creating the new file in photoshop, I would recommend that you make the initial white background layer
1600 x 1200 pixels in size.
