Committee

President
I've been enjoying and practising photography since 2009 and still learning! Having recently retired, perhaps more time and more practice may help me improve. I shoot on a Nikon z50, and its successor Z50ii, and capture what interests me, so do not have a speciality really. Having served on the committee as Treasurer since September 2024, my switch to President in mid 2025 hopefully means I can lead a brilliant committee and significantly influence a fantastic photography club

General and Internal Competition Secretary
I have been interested in photography for many years, mainly wildlife, but more recently macro and still life. I live alongside Beeston canal which does give me opportunities to capture the local wildlife, regular visitors include swans, ducks, cormorants, herons and Sand Martins in the spring/summer. I mainly use Nikon D500 & D7200, but when carrying heavy equipment is not possible I use a Canon PowerShot.

Membership Secretary
I became interested in photography and joined Nottingham & Notts 8 years ago when I purchased my first Nikon camera. Since then I have come on leaps and bounds, although I still have plenty to learn. My main interest is wildlife. I love going to places such as Rutland Water and Frampton Marsh. I'm also lucky to have Attenborough Nature Reserve right on my doorstep. I will be retiring at the end of the year, so hopefully, I will then have more time to get out with my camera.

Web Master and Programme Secretary
I have been a photographer for some 60 plus years. I consider myself first and foremost a landscape photographer but I also love natural history. I am a Fotospeed Ambassador and I produce prints for my lectures, rather than competitions. I am driven to produce my prints by my love of the landscape and nature, with my lecturing giving me an outlet for sharing my prints and the stories behind them.

In 2015 I retired early and one of my retirement presents was a Nikon D3300 camera .. so that’s where my photography journey started . A very good friend of mine Chris Upton recommended that I should joined NNPS- so I did in January 2017. I was instantly impressed with the friendliness of the members and the quality of the programme .. I basically soaked up as much information as I could in those early days .. composition , lighting , post processing etc .. I quickly gravitated to three genres of Photography.. portraits , street photography & travel photography. I was asked to join the committee in 2018 with responsibilities for launching the clubs Instagram Account. During the Covid period I supported Tom Glancz as his Vice President . I still look after the clubs Instagram Account and continue to enjoy portraiture and travel. I am also still using my Nikon entry level camera ! & an IPhone 15 pro max to take images .
