Lighting Workshop UPDATE

Despite a horrible forecast of persistent rain, 11 members of NNPS braved the elements today to participate in our first 'hands on' practical session of the season.

Led by Tim Collins, the group (consisting of Tom, Kevin L, Dave G, David C, Clare, Ian T, Bob, Richard, Steve, Keerthi) learned, or reminded themselves, about how to use a flashgun on camera to enhance portrait shots outside. What are the settings? How do you guide your model? How do you change your settings to suit the environment? What are good backgrounds to use? were just a few questions answered during this morning of practical work.. Aiming for a fun day, the weather didn't deter us from squeezing undercover in areas within Wollaton Park's Walled Gardens and practising to improve our techniques.

Shooting in tight, damp conditions was challenging but we all managed to get some portraits which help to improve our skills...so that next time when we employ some proper models we can maximise our time and optimise our outputs. Watch out for details over the next few months.

A huge thanks goes to Tim for leading the group and also Clare who got us special 'access all areas' in this interesting and varied environment.
