Sad News.

NNPS regrets to inform members that our very much loved and respected member Sybil Blackett passed away peacefully after a long illness on Thursday 7th August 2008.

The funeral service is at St Pauls Church, Boundary Road, West Bridgford, Nott’m at 1pm Monday 18th Aug. The cremation service is at 1.40 p.m. and is family only. NNPS
members are welcome to stay at St. Paul's after the funeral in church
hall to await return of family.

Flowers are not requested but donations to her charity will be very welcome.

Sad News.

Terry Archer

It is with great regret that we have to announce the unexpected death of Terry Archer. His funeral took place in early July and a contribution has been made to The National Trust - the charity chosen by his family - in his memory. Ian Taylor, a Past President of the club knew Terry for many years and makes the following tribute.

I have known Terry and his involvement with Photography since the days of the Police Camera Club in the early 1980’s. He was one of the former members who helped get the Police Camera Club going. Since then I have known Terry through the police, and also through his involvement with several local Camera Clubs, including Arnold and Carlton (now Arnold and District) and Keyworth as well as with NNPS, of which he has been a strong supporter. He recently returned to Keyworth Camera Club to share some of his work with its members.
Terry was dedicated to his hobby and was going for his CPAGB in the near future and I had been advising him on his selected 10 pictures. After such a long association with photography, it would have been good for him to have succeeded with a CPAGB collection of prints but, alas, it was not to be.
I know that Terry gained a lot of pleasure from photography over many years which he shared with his colleagues at NNPS. As someone who contributed greatly to the camaraderie of the club he will be sadly missed.
