Classic Transport Gathering

An opportunity for you to bring along your vintage vehicle (classed as those built before 1985), or come and view those on display.

Ransoms (Wild Garlic) can also be seen in abundance in the Derbyshire Peak District at this time of year

In May and early June,The Little Grebe and Water Voles can be found on The Cromford canal in Derbyshire.

RAF Cosford Air Show 2018
Sunday 10th June 2018

2018 marks the Royal Air Force's centenary, and throughout the year there will be numerous events across the United Kingdom to Commemorate, Celebrate and Inspire as part of 'RAF100'. With Royal Air Force Cosford hosting the Royal Air Force's only official Air Show, our event forms a key element of the RAF100 celebrations.

Our mission for the Royal Air Force Cosford Air Show 2018 is to create the most spectacular and interactive Air Show tribute to the Royal Air Force's centenary.

Mid-June is a good time to visit the Farne Islands
for bird photography.
A good place to stay is Seahouses and use Billy Shiel's boats.

Another place for you bird Photographers is
The Bass Rock
which is situated just off the coast at North Berwick.

14th and 15th July 2018

Following the continued popularity of our Edwardian Event, it will be repeated in 2018, including some World War I anniversary elements.

As well as re-enactors, who will create a Suffragette Rally, there will be talks around themes such as gas warfare, grenades, the work of women and fashion from the period.

WW2 Home Front Event

Saturday 11th August
Sun 12th August 2018

Step back in time to the 1940s with our World War II- Home front event, which returns for two days.

Vintage trams will mix with military vehicles and re-enactors, while wartime fayre will be served in Rita’s Tearooms and the Red Lion Pub will offer drinks and traditional pub games.

War time songs will be performed by live performers. To complete the nostalgia, there will be a ‘Boot Camp’ for children.

During the first or 2nd week in Aug you can see expanses of heather starting to appear in the Derbyshire Peak district and it is usuallly at its best towards the end of August. A good place to start is Over Owler Tor or Surprise View (both near Hathersage)


Scampton Airshow 2018

As the organiser, we have concluded that rather than stage an airshow in 2018, we will use next year to fully consider the many lessons learnt with the ambition of running an event in 2019.

Crich Tramway Village
Starlight Spectacular

The week when Crich Tramway Village is illuminated and the trams run into the early evening up to Saturday 3rd November.

Plenty of family fun throughout the week including craft activities.

Around the 2nd week in this month is normally prime time to photograph the beautful Acers at
Westonbirt Arboretum

Nottingham Goose Fair 2017

With more than 700 years of history, Nottingham Goose Fair is one of Europe's most famous travelling fairs, and is still a fantastic event that delights all ages.

Late November at Donna Nook, Lincolnshire is the time to photograph the North Atlantic Grey Seals & pups.

(Sat & Sun only due to the seals being on an RAF firing range that isnt used at weekends only)

(please note that photohgraphers are now discouraged from going on the beach)
