Having travelled extensively and lived abroad, I had always enjoyed photographing the people and places I visited. However, on reaching the start of a critical decade, I decided to take photography seriously and over several years of part-time study obtained City and Guilds Distinctions and my LRPS.

The dark room did not attract me and I made an early conversion to a digital SLR and Photoshop, particularly since this allowed me to print colour easily.

Joining Nottingham and Notts. Photographic Society has honed the skills I acquired, and greatly improved my ability to judge the difference between a good and a superlative picture. I am still striving and seldom satisfied! I have had the rewards of winning club competitions, having prints exhibited and getting a few photos published.

I am now beginning to focus on distinct areas of interest such as flower and macro photography and travel reportage. Colour remains a vital part of any image I take.
